Women In Film and Television Reception

I had the most beautiful evening at the Women in Film & Television Reception during the Toronto International Film Festival — a space filled with some of the most driven, accomplished, and forward-thinking women in the media industry.

There’s something powerful about being in a room where ambition, creativity, and collaboration are not only welcomed but celebrated. Conversations flowed effortlessly — from upcoming productions and evolving media landscapes to fashion, storytelling, and the future of female leadership in film. The energy was magnetic. Every woman in that room carried a story, a vision, and a determination to shape the industry in her own way.

For me, the evening felt especially meaningful.

I’ve spent the past while intentionally stepping away from the industry limelight to focus on completing my album — pouring myself into the creative process, refining my sound, and building something deeply personal. It required focus, discipline, and a certain level of solitude. But as production now comes to a close, I can feel the shift. The re-emergence. The excitement of stepping back into rooms like this with new clarity and a renewed sense of purpose.

Returning to the film and fashion world at this stage feels different — more intentional. I’m not just attending; I’m aligning. I’m exploring projects that merge music, visual storytelling, and style in ways that feel authentic to me. The intersection of fashion and film has always fascinated me — the way wardrobe becomes narrative, the way image amplifies emotion, the way presence can speak before a single word is said.

I’m also looking forward to joining orientation soon, meeting more of my colleagues in the field, and building meaningful creative partnerships. There’s something inspiring about starting a new chapter — not from scratch, but from experience.

The Women in Film & Television reception wasn’t just an event. It was a reminder: of community, of momentum, and of the importance of women supporting women in spaces that continue to evolve.
